1-7 years after high school. Get bachelor's degree and then work towards a master's.
-Go to Stanford for bachelor's and go to a school in Michigan for a master's.
-Do summer internships at laboratories and research facilities to gain work experience.
-Either gain full time employment with a bachelor's degree, or seek a master's.

7-10 years after high school. Find a career that will use my biology degree, and gain work experience.

Biology career

Many Biologists coming out of colleges start working at the low levels of a research company, under the supervision of a more experienced scientist. Biologists eventually want to move into more advanced work as they get experience. Higher paying fields include lab technicians, food/dairy production, and scientific sales representative.

Biologist

I chose this career because it seems more interesting than being a Physicist. Biology allows a Biologist to research already discovered things, all of the while it can present opportunities to discover new patterns in ecosystems and present new theories with many subjects.

A biologist mainly researches ecosystems, cells, and biological processes that occur in nature.

Biologists usually research under a small private company with other people in their fields. Biologists exist all over the country. It is possible for a biologist to also work at pharmaceutical companies, or start their own research businesses.

Bachelor's Education

I would obtain a Bachelor's degree in General Biology/Biological Sciences.

Stanford students pursuing any kind of Bachelor's needs a minimum of 180 credits to graduate.

Stanford accepts AP credits with scores of 4-5. I am currently taking one AP class and plan to take more next year.
- For the credits to transfer, the student must score at least a 4 on the AP test for the subject. Then they must submit their test score to the Academics office at the school.

Stanford

I chose Stanford University for many reasons. Stanford holds a great reputation of providing some of the best higher education in the world, and has turned out many influential people. A degree from Stanford is highly respected from virtually any potential employer. It also holds family value to me. 7 of my family members are alumni of Stanford, so it captures my interest even more. It also caters to the type of college I want to go to in the way that it is located in a suburb of a big city. It feels like the campus is isolated, but there are many activities outside of the school.

I am interested in Princeton because it has a great reputation as a school and is known for challenging its students in all courses.

 I am interested in University of Michigan because it is close to Grosse Pointe and has a great science program.

I am interested in Stanford because many people in my family have gone there and it is one of the top schools in the nation.

Two Careers that interest me

Biologist - Studies the organisms of the world and how they are affected and affect their environment.

Minimum: Bachelor’s, but a P.h.D. is recommended for more prosperous careers.

I am interested in being a biologist because the subject of Biology has caught my attention and it would be interesting to learn about the environments of many organisms. Biologists research many different organisms, so it would not get repetitive.

Physicist - Researches many different things involving physics. Spans from studying movement on a small scale to a large scale.

In order to become a Physicist, a Bachelor of Science to a Doctoral degree is recommended, depending on the advancement the person wants to take within the field.

I think that being a physicist would be a good career to have because one is basically guaranteed to learn from their job by doing this. Along with learning, you have the potential to make groundbreaking discoveries within the Physics field and contribute to the subject as a whole.
